OSHA announces "National Emphasis Program" for increased worksite inspections

OSHA announced today the launch of a new National Emphasis Program that will run for three years. The focus will include increased inspections of warehousing, distribution centers and high-risk retail establishments. Inspections will primarily focus on powered industrial equipment, material handling, storage, walking/working surfaces, emergency egress and fire protection. State plans will be expected to uphold the same or similar emphasis programs.
